Last weekend we had a small adventure as we went to 'Opera in the Paddock". We left the Gold Coast after one of my training sessions and took the long drive to Glen Innes. We arrived there 8pm NSW time!! We spent the night there and next morning drove to Inverell. I am not sure what we were expecting but we were presently surprised. It was a beautiful thriving town with well kept homes and a vibrant main street. There were lovely sidewalks, interesting shops and flowers planted along the streets. The town has a population of 12,000 and the district another 18,000. The countryside was beautiful. It was green with undulating hills.

The Opera was held about 25 km outside of Inverell on a property called Mimosa. We went out at 5pm and put up our picnic chairs and got out our nibbles and drink - it was beautiful. The paddock had tall gum trees and you could hear the birds. It was a great atmosphere as the sun went down.

The paddock had a special stage that had been built. The sound was great and the performers and the orchestra were excellent. It was a really enjoyable night in a truly magnficent surroundings. It thoroughly enjoyed it.
