Our lovely Sarah turned six on Friday. We made the cake just to her specifications - chocolate heart with chocolate icing around the side, a red love heart in the middle, smarties around the side and Happy Birthday Sarah written on the top! It was fun to celebrate her day with her and enjoy that cake!

Another enjoyable Christmas
As the Christmas season 2007 draws to a close we can reflect on what a great time we had with family and friends and the opportunity to spread the spirit of Christmas. It has left us with a renewal of our appreciation for the babe born in Bethlahem so long ago but who so greatly influences our lives today.
On Christmas Eve we accompanied The Phillips family to Southbank for a ride on the Ferris Wheel followed by supper at the Pancake Manor in Charlotte Street.
On Christmas morning we had the usual present giving - it was delightful to see the excitement of the children as they received their presents!! It makes the shopping worthwhile.
Stephen & Elaine and their family stayed with us for lunch then we went to Anita's to catch up with the McIntosh family. Then on to the Haynes' . It was a lovely day - great food, great gifts, great company.

The Christmas Lights are up!!
There is magic in the Christmas Season - it is great to get the yearly dose of news from friends and family - to remember sweet associations. It is wonderful to see the excitement in the eyes of the children as the presents pile higher and higher under the tree. It is special to see the homes all aglow with lights - even ours!

I so much enjoyed catching up with lots of friends and there were some very entertaining musical items also. There is a lot of talent out there!!

Gingerbread houses and lots of icing!!
I am the Faith in God Activity Leader which is a calling with a lot of fun attached!! Tuesday was our last activity for 2007 so I had this idea that both boys and girls could make gingerbread houses. Well, they loved it....there was icing everywhere and many houses kept caving in ...but most of the houses turned ourt great. It was only achieved with the help of some good helpers - John, Lisa Milner and Leonie Stewart. It was a good night.

O Christmas Tree.!...Oh Christmas Tree!
The grandchildren all came over last night to decorate our beautiful Christmas Tree. We have a beautiful fresh tree again this year - the beautiful pine smell wafts through the house - a real seasonal delight. We had a lot of fun putting on the decorations and untangling the garlands to finish it off.

Busy Saturday

Last Saturday we enjoyed the Ward Christmas Party. There was lots of food and good company.
We hurried off before the end to enjoy a night at the theatre at QPAC. We ejoyed going to Handels's Messiah - a wonderful birthday gift.
The music was powerful and we enjoyed the message - Handel's testimony of the Savior. It was a fitting start to the Christmas Season. It certainly opened the door for my desire to have a Christmas season with Christ at the centre. Thanks to the givers.
Dad's Birthday
